Hi all,
I'm playing Kings Acre on Monday with a few of the guys from work. Has anyone got any tips on a few of the holes? I'm keen to get bragging rights!

Cheers!

The holes with water at driver distance take 3w or long iron etc for accuracy! apart from that its a decent layout, quite generous fairways and some interesting holes. Enjoy

Arrive early - If you don't fancy a coffee there's a super driving range and a practice putting green

Concentrate on being on the short stuff and you'll enjoy it ...

There's about 6 or 7 dogleg holes and don't start thinking that your going to cut the corners at this time of year! Play them how their meant to be played and it'll save you a couple of shots ;) Pretty much the only blind hole/shot that your playing is your 2nd shot on the par 5 third hole. There's no way that you'll reach in 2 so play the shot that gets you up/over the hill and keeping you on the fairway, gee whiz this is an easy game when your typing lol.

The last hole is the only tee shot that you have with a water hazard x2 ... Keep right as CMAC suggests (accuracy) or hit the driver over the pond. The last (second) water hazard is left/short of the green and if you hit it in there then you get what you've deserved ... Back to the range! :fore:

Good luck

Cheers guys, I'm looking forward to it! Luckily I live in Gilmerton (ashamed I haven't played it yet) so I can arrive early! They have a good deal on at the moment as well; warm up balls on the range, round of golf and a comp fish & chips after, all for £29!

Not long back from my round. Really enjoyed the course, it was in great condition considering the rain. The bottom holes (15/16/17) were not affected as well and all the greens were in top condition! Unfortunately didn't get the bragging rights but played alright. I just need some consistency (don't we all?!). Would definitely play it again!
