Have you got a fat one?

We ain't pro's - I always judge an opponent's putting ability by the size of his grip and head - the bigger, the crapper.

Wow - best putter in our club and county champ uses a TM Daddy Long legs with a SS 3.0 grip

How the heck can a person's putting ability be judged on the grip and size of putter ?!

Like all the unimportant, irrelevant and stupid rambles and rants that we all indulge in - it is again just my post prompting opinion.

Which, of course, you are obliged to disagree with

- stalker.

listen up folks because this is important and true.

Everyone tries to put their hands on a putter grip in a natural fashion. Because grips have a varying thickness, this naturally changes where you would put your hands in 'your normal grip'. Sometimes it will weaken your grip, others it will strengthen. Once you find one that it nearly right. You can fine tune your natural grip slightly till it delivers the face as square to the ball as possible.

Trust me. I have quite a few putters and done quite a bit of putter muckery-a-boutery.

Bob above is saying. You are missing right so strengthen that left hand. That is a fine tune.

Tried a Winn Jumbo lite on my 2nd putter about 4 months ago and really happy with it to the point I didn't put the TM putter back in the bag

Eventually got round to getting same grip fitted on the TM putter two weeks ago and same benefits

I grip low down with right hand and despite being a jumbo grip the Winn Jumbo still tapers which suits me better than any of the un-tapered versions

Got one of the fat Odyssey ones.
Works a treat - far more relaxed grip as no longer throttling the putter.
The success made me review my iron grips and went up a size in them to repeat the relaxed grip through my bag.
Great results and feeling all round

Im not a fan of them TBH, think they take away feel, but that's not why I'm posting;)

just a warning!

if you get one make sure it fits in your bag before hand;)

Mate of mine got one fitted, turned up on a sat morning took his clubs out of his locker, only to find the grip was too thick to fit in the putter well on his bag or any of the other club dividers in it as well:rofl:

Had one for a number of years now. Definitely improved my stroke, taking the floppy wrists out of the equations. Only minor issue is that the grip is a bar of soap when it rains.

Fitted a Super Stroke 3.0 Lite to my old Cleveland Putter after ditching that awful GEL one I bought. Average 3 putts have gone down to average 2. Been a great change.
