Grand Slam Winner
I played in a "pro/am" comp a few years ago, the pro we were playing with was a young assistant from a club in Sussex. He didn't play particulary well that day, and he was moaning like mad about the state of the greens. The mate and I that were playing with him didn't really enjoy his company but were very surprised when he invited us over to play at his course a few weeks later. As we hadn't played the course before we accepted.
We arrived at the alloted time and teed off. There was one particular hole on the front 9, a par 4 with a lake in front of the green. It was about 300 yards in total length and the idea was to knob a 7 iron or something off the tee and knock over onto the green. The pro said he regularly "went for it".
When we got to the tee there was a fourball already on the green, the pro put his ball down and said "this will speed them up" and proceeded to hammer a drive which thumped down into the green between the four guys and go out through the back. If that ball had hit one of them it would have seriously injured them. I have never, ever, been so embarrassed on a golf course in my life, and couldn't believe that the pro at a club would do something like that. It ruined the rest of our round (for my friend and I at least) but the pro was grinning about it for a good few holes later.
The tosser wasn't there a couple of years later. I sometimes wonder what happened to the prat. I hope, deep down, that somebody bigger than him smashed a driver into his face.
