I had a Great Big Bertha 5 wood that I could just about get to sit up and beg for biscuits. I then had a brain wave of putting a 3 wood length shaft in it. Failed!

When I changed the shaft back to a 5 wood length shaft it just never felt the same.

Bent a five iron from my set of Ben Sayers blades as a junior after an argument with a tree, hitting a shot, not in a tantrum. Got it re-shafted with the same shaft as the original and a matching grip but it never ever felt right and I never really trusted it again.

Trying to re varnish a Stan Thompson persimmon driver and making a complete horlicks of it.
Must be 35 years ago and I still think of it, had to get a local pro to sort it.

A pal of mine bought a Nike Vapour driver. First round at the brabazon on the front nine he Skyed one and there is a lovely dink in the top of his club. He was and is still gutted.

Me bought a vokey wedge, played Retford and it was gorgeous, went to chip one out from under a tree and nearly broke my wrists, ball was sat on top of a buried building brick. Put a lovely dink in my shiny vokey.
