I got my mate banned from Troon Darley GC and he doesn't even play golf. I had teed off really early and was going to pay my green fee when I got in and coming down the 18th, some jobsworth is already yelling from out of the shop window at me. I naturally looked at my putt from every angle and then some and took my time walking in with cash in hand. She starts off on one about going off early and that she was going to ban me from the club for a week. I was about to drive the M74 to go home so had some fun protesting for a bit. She eventually asks for my name so I just said "John Davies from Nuneaton" and she writes it down in her book.
Told one of the greenkeepers who I had been talking to during my round on the way out and he was roaring with laughter. Said he would wait 30 minutes and then go in and tell her. So my mate is probably still banned.
