Have you been fitted for yur glove?

I've seen it all now, videos on how to care for your glove

What's next, a video on how to take better care of your tees?!?

Always wiggle a wooden tee when you put it in the ground, this creates is bit more room for the tee to move upon impact and less chance of breakage.

Video to follow soon.

I suppose it's the the logical extension of custom fitting for everything you use to play golf. So the average Joe is under the impression that all their gear is specifically tailored for them.

Everyone knows you have to be custom fit for everything in your bag, other than tees. No point getting custom fit for them, good old pink castle works for everyone......:p

Also, that website is HORRIBLE. 1-page web design can look good if it's done well, but my god, that is horrible. It's about as far from user-friendly as possible. It also loads each section horribly, it's slow, it randomly breaks if you move too fast, eugh, it's so bad.

Yep.

And my tees, cap, towel, pitch repairer and pencil

:)

Footjoy seem to think it is very important and have a now website all about gloves

Footjoy Glove Website

and you read the subject title and thought, oh no here we go again another mickey take, "Have you been fitted or your..." thread.
Yes I've been fitted for my glove! I try one on: If it fits and feels comfortable I buy it, if not I don't buy it!

During a Ping demo day the Ping fitter said to me - first thing is to go get a glove that fits - I said this one is working perfectly fine for me , he then proceeded to tell me that my glove was too big for me - I proceeded to tell him I have hands like like a 3 year old and all gloves are too big for me.

Not sure on the specific guidelines of a correct glove but this is what I was told and it works fine for me.... Put the glove on and clench your fist. Is it pulling at the seams and the Velcro is undoing itself? It's too small, go next size up or try a different manufacturer. If you put it on and you have to pull the Velcro twice round yor hand and your fingers do not reach the end, go one size smaller. Pretty simple isn't it.

regarding looking after gloves, I think people could do that better. I only wear the expensive leather footjoy gloves so like to get as many rounds as possible from them. I find if you take them and rinse them with some Luke warm water and a bit of detergent then leave them to dry over the shower rail, not in the sun or on a radiator they come up really well and you got a lot more rounds from them and they do not go shiny as quick.

i have also been told if you hang tea bags up to dry you can get a second pot from them too, amazing what I learnt living in Scotland for 5 years.....

Just bough 3 pairs of sciflex and the velcro close over to 80%. Will have to send them back and go down a size.

I got fitted. Went like this:

Can I have a glove please.
All weather of leather.
leather please.
What size.
Large.
Have you tried medium large. They do stretch a bit with use.
OK, medium large then.
Thats 10:99 please.
Thanks.

Is it really that much of a science?

Sorry but if you need a video to know a glove is the wrong size you shouldn't be out in public without a carer. What's next " were you fitted for your laces "

I would not have believed it had I not watched it (well bits).

I know the world seems to be going to hell in a handcart since no-one takes responsibility for anything and marketing has become a self perpetuating bull---t trip but until this I hadn't realised how far the 'handcart' had travelled down Chris Rea's "Road to hell".

The worrying things is the fact that clearance for creating this set of videos must have gone through several layers of FJ management for the budget / project to be sanctioned - what numpties !!

Well if you think about it, if they are not long enough you will struggle tie your little bunny ears. But if they are too long then you will trip over them. So I can see the advantages for custom fit laces.....:p

Is there a "Health and Safety" App for that :mmm:
