To not take the other thread too far off topic...

When you putt out on 18 to complete a round do you remove your hat when shaking hands with your FC/PP etc?

If so are you doing it because its polite or because you saw Rory etc do it on TV?

I'm making the assumption that everyone shakes hands after a round!

I dont wear a hat, except maybe a wooly hat on the very coldest of winter days and that stays on!

Early days but a pretty one sided poll result so far

I'd be interested to hear from those who are ok with caps indoors and whether they are hats on/off for the handshake and how they view any difference (no ulterior motive other than healthy debate)

Sorry to break the 100% record :(

It just never really occurs to me. After a round of golf I wouldn't feel upset if my PP didn't take off his hat (and they never do btw) so there's really no need!

Only really wear a bobble hat if it's cold but yes take it off and also any sunglasses I maybe wearing

Yes when it's a cap but less so when it's a woolly hat. Not sure why but think it's because we kiss :o and the peak gets in the way!

I hardly ever wear a baseball cap style hat because I look a numpty in a hat.
However I will usually wear a woolly hat in the winter.
I remember this year that a FC didn't remove his hat when he shook my hand and I
thought then that was a bit rude so perhaps its expected.
The reason I noticed is because normally everyone removes their hat when shaking hands.

In the same way as it's polite to remove your hat indoors it's polite to remove it to shake hands. However, sometimes a FC moves in for the handshake before I get a chance to take it off....

And, yes, when I think about it I'm not sure I take off a wooly hat in the depths of winter for the handshake.
