Got a popup on FB yesterday from My Golf Spy suggesting that Taylormade has now been sold. Nothing to corroborate, nor can I find any news in general. Anyone else seen or heard anything? I'm not particularly a TM fanboy, just interested in general.

in the summer there was rumours that adidas put Adams and Taylormade up for sale but then end of the year they said profits were up but made a number redundant within the golfing divisions to help save costs

Isn't the rumour that the sale will be announced at the PGA show thing in Florida that occurs around this time of year? I thought Adidas were after offloading Adams, TM and Ashworth, so it would not be a surprise.

They've effectively been for-sale for quite a while, I think we'll see some movement and announcements by the end of the month ;)

Hi guys, hope you're all well!

Just a quick note to let you all know that we haven't been sold! We're all still here at TMaG Towers and same goes in the US. Obviously with any company of our size it's not uncommon for rumours like this to pop up but on this occasion the story is entirely fabricated and without substance.

As stated numerous times the adidas Global Exec team are invested in TaylorMade and adidas Golf and committed to ensuring we retain our dominant position in the industry. If you've got any questions, happy to chat further :)

Hopefully see a few more of you on meet-ups again this year!

James, any insight into lack of support & comms around myRoundPro ?

Drop me an email Iain. The team running myroundpro are based in the US and so we're not tremendously close to the development side. I know that there are plans to improve the system this year with new features and benefits (and I guess tidy up any existing issues?) but would have to speak with them for any more clarification.

I believe that there is coverage of the majority of courses in the UK and US now but if there's any specific concerns or things you need a hand with, let me know and I'll get in touch with the team :)

I heard that the Adams brand is going to be aimed at recreational golfers, ie those that are not serious and just want to play occasionally. Whereas the TaylorMade brand will be aimed at the competitive/serious player.
As TaylorMade have benefited from Adams technology I can see this brand disappearing sadly

MyGolfSpy not letting it lie, just got this email in my inbox:

Expect an interesting next few months for TaylorMade Golf.
The information from a highly-credible source is that, in early February, adidas entertained an initial round of bidding for TaylorMade Golf.

Six bids were received, five of them from private equity firms, the sixth from a competitor, specifically Bridgestone.

It looks unlikely that TaylorMade will right the ship in time to stave off a sale.
