come on guys lets get 100 responses. My question is this Rory Mcllroy had twelve top 5 finishes this year however only one win.Martin Kaymer who seems to have been around 2 minutes has had 5 top five finishes but two wins.Has rory really got a good enough short game and putting game too be a multiple winner every year.

Rory struggles to get over the line and hopefully he will fire in a major. I think he will only win one or two though . . . Just hope he doesnt go the way of Sergio with the putter !!

Bobmac i think could get 100 responses for a good post everybody has an opinion, its not a competition, however why the sad face is it because your a miserable git.I also see you make a response to most of the posts so we know theres always going to be 1 response at least.

Why 100?? :D

But yes rory does have the short game/ complete game to be the best in the world in tigers absense.

Way out of line

I hope the media hype doens't get to him and affect his game. He is still very young and am sure he is aware of the need to work on certain aspects of his game.

As for will be a multi winner year in year out, only time can tell us that....

Hi,
I think he will win at least 1 in america and 1 in europe this year and will go very close for the open he has never shot over 70 in St. Andrews either as a amature or pro he seems to hole a far share of putts but seems to over read short putts rather that mis hit them his putting stroke looks ok a lot of it seems to be his reading of greens i think he will improve with each year last year was only his second on tour if his short game improves no. 3 in the world by the end of the year.

Bob's safe in the knowledge that he's a pro golfer - the envy of every person on this forum. Further, as a pro golfer he gets to spend most of his time on the course - that's never going to make him miserable.

I think you'll find Kaymer has been on Tour a bit longer than McIlroy ;)

Has Rory really got a good enough short game and putting game too be a multiple winner every year

He's still learning, but, on the face of it, yes he probably has :D

Chris and AW, I think I have got alot of patience as all teachers should have and as most people who know me know I'm not a miserable git :)
And Yes, it is great being a Pro golfer :D

Rory IMO will just end up another great player in a field of great players. You have to be really really special to rise to the top these days. Virtually every player on tour has superb technique, fitness levels, and the back up of the very best caddies and coaches available. I like the guy but can't see him being a world beater like Tiger, or a top player like Monty was. Hope he proves me wrong though.
Bit harsh on Bob by the way, no need for that.
