Am due to play there in a society outing this coming weekend and just wondered if anyone on the Forum had played the course? The Roxburghe's website is woeful with only a bio about course designer Dave Thomas and a copy of the scorecard on it. There aren't any photos or descriptions of the holes or tips on how to play them etc.

Cheers all.

Played it on many occasions, typical Thomas course i.e huge bunkers, huge greens etc but you will enjoy it of that there is no doubt.
Be prepared for a 4.5hr round mind as it is a fair hike to get round. Some really good holes with the signature being 14th 'Viaduct' a par 5 played from an elevated tee and the fairway runs alongside the Tweed and on old disused beautiful viaduct bridge.
It opened to much aclaim maybe 10 years back,it is a good course but not as good as they claimed it was going to be but nonetheless you will I am sure really enjoy it,I know I do whenever I play it.
You mind me asking how much you are paying?

Here's a wee taster...

I couldn't possibly say how much I'm paying, but suffice to say that we have got a VERY good deal!

Thanks Dodger. I figured, being a 21 handicapper, that the course will be far too good for me, but we'll just have to see how I hit the ball on the day.

Hi Derek,
I played the Roxburghe a couple of years ago. It's a great course and should be a grand day out for you. One word of advice though. I played with a couple of very low handicappers and we played off the back tees. You have to be a good driver of the ball on some of the holes to reach the fairways. Be realistic on your choice of tees and you will really enjoy it. :)

Great course and was in impecible condition when I played it.

As Dodger and Clive said, you'll have a great day.

Mate played there yesterday, said it was in great condition especially the greens.
Pick your tees wisely, some long tee shots needed from the back pegs especially on the back 9.
You should have a great day out.
