Just home from work, usually knock off around 5 but I have spent the last 2 hours doing a truly bizarre job........

Sitting at my desk starting to pack up when one of the Greenkeepers comes storming in shouting "Allan, help, there a fu##ing Otter in the workshop!!!"

Went across and sure enough, after a bit of hunting,we came across it.Bloody big bugger too, must be 4 foot from tip of the tail to nose.

It has hidden away in a crevice and we failed to entice it out, tried a few things, side of salmon, cheese among a few.

I left the greenkeeper to lock up but I am concerned there will be a 2am call out if the little bugger sets the alarm off!

Does anyone have any ideas on how to get him out and will he be okay to survive??

Bloody strange one,he is a good par 5 away from his natural habitat!

I am impressed that you tried to lure it out with cheese. I can just see it like a scene out of Caddyshack

Lol, read about it on twitter earlier!
A knew you liked sniffing around Beavers with cheesy things but not otter's!

Bit of an otter fan I must confess, spent alot of time on the tweed watching them and photographing them (badly).
Tricky one Dodge, shame you couldn't have left one of the shutter doors open a wee bit over night in the hope it came out itself. The last time I got too close to an adult one with young un the bloody female chased me along the riverbank! Absolutely bizarre, spoke to a few people in the know since then and they'd never heard anything the likes.

Shotgun ? shoot it or scare it .... JOKING only JOKING .. leave the workshop door open & go away from it he will venture out in search of food eventualy .. if ya stop feeding it that is ... not an otter expert (surprisingly) but wild animals in general will shy away from humans but sneak out when all is quiet

OTTER UPDATE - The wee man is out in the open again, last seen hiding in a roll of Astroturf.....Potter the Otter has snaffled the salmon overnight and we have given him another bit that has been gobbled down.Doors are firmly shut so he cannot get back inside.Thankfully he did not set the alarm off last night,he's a big bugger as well, kind of puzzling what he's up to!!??

To be honest, the RSPCA are bleeding useless with anything more unusual than a dog or a cat. Trying to get them to do anything relating to horses, for example, is just pointless!

As to what he's up to... Otter-based machinery theft? You wouldn't suspect them, would you?

There was a boa constrictor eating yorkshire terriers and stuff near here a few years ago. All the RSPCA did was call my mate who ran an exotic pet store at the time and ask him to come find it.....
