Lost distance ????

Last few rounds and at the range I have noticed almost a clubs more lack of distance. Can take it at the range cos I never rally take into account distance with range balls, but it's also happening on the course...

Was wondering if anybody else had noticed this or am I doing something different all of a sudden !! I know winter changes ball flights etc but didn't really think it had got that cold yet !!

Thanks in advance for your replies !!

noticed it about two weekends ago. it was a cool day. the ball just didn't have that summer zip through the air.

not much we can do about it!

Not noticed it in the NW yet. Played 6 holes today and was getting Summer yardages still. Was actually T Shirt weather most of the day.. Are you TRYING to hit the ball further?

Thought as much.... I agree t shirt only today, maybe I am trying to force it slightly.. Ground was also very wet so maybe not getting great strike if hitting down..... Not got too much experience with different seasons!!!

I'm not a full club down yet like I will be in a month or so, but maybe half a club. That's carry distance as well, I imagine it will be worse for anyone that works on total distance.

I guess at the moment it's all about what time of days you are playing, early morning or late on then it's more than likely a club difference. During the middle of the day the distance wouldn't be much at all. I did 7 holes after work tonight and it was definitely a club longer

Think I May book a flightscope session with my pro to confirm if it's me or not!!!

There's enough in this game to do your head in without hitting online only to drop short!!

I read somewhere that high handicappers should take yardages to the back of the green and more times they will come up short and be in the middle of the green...... Guess what I did ?? Yeap, back/over the back of every one!!!

I think the idea is that you take the biggest club that won't go over the back of the green.

If that's what you thought you were doing and still went over the back then I guess the Flightscope session would be worthwhile!

I haven't lost any distance in the weather yet, but as whole, since sorting my swing out some what, i have lost distance. I don't really care that i have, as i have improved accuracy. even with my exaggerated lofted clubs (eh murph!) i am probably 1 club shorted than the start of the season.

So you've gone to TM and lost distance? Now why don't they use that on the advertisements?;)

ahh, but gained accuracy! thats something they should shout about! anyway, my drop in distance will probably still have me above average forum distances! ;)

Good man, wouldn't want to be hitting anything less than a 9 iron into long Par 3's. I mean, what's the point of golfing if you can't do that? :D

Ha! not after i learnt how to putt properly!

Go on tell them /.... thanks to David Howell

As per the OP ,cant tell regarding yardages as i have new clubs gone from reg to stiff shafts , also half inch longer , still figuring them out , still mild enough over here so wouldn't say it too much of a difference yet
