Overdid the celebrations last night. Went for a meal with the department which was civilised but then as others went home, I adjourned to an Irish pub full of plenty of Irish nurses from the hospital and a live band and was still there at midnight. Head banging despite paracetamol, loads of water and a walk in the fresh air and starting to feel decidedly ropey this evening

Anyone got any sure fire cures for a hangover. Definitely getting too old and not drinking to any great extent anymore left me seriously under prepared.

Obviously a bit late for you tonight but my ideal plan is as follows:
- Big glass of water
- 2 aspirin, 2 paracetamol (they act on different pathways, so no real danger in taking both)
- Coffee. At least two.
- Full English, with a can of coke on the side.
- And if it still hurts after that, either go back to bed or have another drink.

When I was a wild student, my usual hangover cure was a warm can of lager at the bedside.. Wake up at 11ish, neck the lager, eat my cheap breakfast, then back on the ale (or go into college, whichever seemed more important at the time)..

Tom Yum Soup (Vegetable)

Made Spicy/Thai heat, but don't consume (or even bite) the Chillies.

I've seen it work wonders (on other people) - twice!
