Handicaps

I started playing golf around 5 years ago and only last year started playing a lot more regularly, last year I had my handicap worked out as 24. 12 months, countless rounds, and even more lost balls I have managed to lower my handicap to 17. Which I am very pleased with!! I doubt I will ever make single figures but I'm aiming for around 12 if possible. What category of handicap would 17 fall under?

Here you go fella, it's all explained in here. 17 is category 3 and I believe it's somewhere close to the average handicap so you are doing pretty well :thup:

Thanks for that drive4show! It's quite a lot to try and take in and understand at first, all going well and with plenty of practise I will hopefully reach my target!! No doubt once I get there I will try and better that too though haha

Magic 2s comps are divided into 3 cats . i think its something like 0 - 12 div one 13 - 18 div two, 19 and above div three. I've see the pot in div three grow to over £100.00.
