CONGU says
"to get a handicap a player must submit cards from at least three rounds, marked by a person approved by the Club. The rounds must be played at that Club over 18 holes of, preferably, a measured course."
So the yellows are on a measured course, they may well be a lower SSS than the whites.
The three cards that we have to put in at our club are two off yellow and one off whites (in a competition played only for handicap purposes). Probably gives a fairer reflection of they way you cope with the whole course.
When I was a member at my pervious course the rounds for handicap had to be off the whites.
Funny thing is no matter how well I scored round there on comp days my handicap never came down. Part, but not the only reason i lost interest in comps & finally left that club, that & the clicky nature of some of the inner circle at that club.
Oh to find a localclub to myself that doesn't cost the earth to join & has a decent attitude where I can get my handicap cut to a decent level.
Heck knows. They had me down as a 28 & by the end of last year I was shooting mid 80's & low 90's anything between 83 & 92... I really couldn't fathom it. Really narked me that by the time I was playing rally well, September, October, November etc, Most of the main comps were finished & pettered out & then theonly thing open to play is the winter league. Big deal, as none of them count for your handicap adjustment. Probably explains why I didn't play as much this season & my performance has understandably nosedived in the early part of this year.
you were shooting nett 55 to 64 and wasnt getting cut??!!
Was it a par 54 or something?Never mind playing well if it was a par 62plus I would have been demanding you were cut and your mask and spurs were confiscated!!Something wrong somewhere, what were winning these comps?!
Hey Amego...(rofl)
the parr for that track was a 68.
didn't win any, though, did have a second. Do still have the unclaimed voucher somewhere. Though as I say my best performances were in the later half of the season. Oh, the second though was in the April of last year btw.
