hi i'm fairly new to golf and was wondering if my average scores are between 99-115 per round is it worth trying to grt a propper handicap?
if i did does anyone know given my score range what sort of handicap would i get?
thanks and sorry if this is a stupid question.

You sound a similar standard to me and Ive just been given 24.
I handed in one card of 103 then played a round with the club president and handicap secretary and was given 24

I'm lost!

I have been a member at my golf club for a few months now. I handed in three cards, one was 114, one was 109 and the 3rd was 102.

Now I was given a 28 handicap which to me seems fair but I'm amazed to see you were given a 24handicap with them scores.

My aim was to get down to a 27 handicap this year but with your results I think one round with the captain and I could be in single figures by the winter.

Strange one I agree.
They said that playing with them and seeing my course management and taking into account the conditions I was a 24, they didnt want to give me higher as it would just p&££ me off as I would never achieve it.
Must admit it baffles me and I would prefer a 28.
Its my first comp next week, so I'll see how I perform.

Your_Brand_Golf & ANDYTROW – To be honest with handicaps like the ones you both have it won’t take them long to come down if they are indeed too high. Your both in handicap category 4 so for every shot you play under your handicap in a qualifying competiton (assuming the SSS score stays the same) it’ll take 0.4 instantly off your handicap. You’ll be surprised how quickly your handicaps will naturally change to better reflect your golfing ability.

DHM.
