What is your handicap target for the coming season?
What will you start the season playing off and what do you hope to get down to, and what does you game need to get there?

Im off 15 just now but really hoping to get down to 12, just gotta find real consistency over 18 holes, and cut out the odd 3 putt.

Currently 19.2 after starting last season 18.2 Not to go up any further is the first priority, any reduction is a bonus.

Get rid of the dreaded slice, and hole out consistently from inside 6 feet.

Playing of 25 at the moment. With practice I'm hoping to knock 5 off, possibly get down to high teens if I'm lucky. May be trying to run before I can walk though.

Like Bossman (Welcome to the forum by the way!) I'd love to rectify my regular slice, recent practice tells me I'm getting there.

7 would be nice. Better decision making and anything less than 34 putts would do it. Only managed 5 medal rounds last year, thanks partly to the weather. Nice weather please this year.

i wanna get down to 11 this year single figures is my aim but i need to get some rounds under my belt before theat tunrs up. you never know.
A better mental game is my winner, Also i need to hit some more greens . I now have the ability to chip in, sink putts, hit fairways, make pars and birdies so theres no excuse to not do better.

started playing golf 3 years ago , my first h/p 28 now am off 9, iys the only game i know that the more you get better the harder it gets, i would love to come down another 2

Off 3.5 (4) and would love to get down to 2. However with the birth of my second kid in April this may prove unrealistic as medal rounds will be few and far between. Concentrating on putting and wedges which I hope will pay dividends.

Too embarrased to mention what ive been round in this weekend :o

Breaking 100 regularly in what will be my first full season would be a start.

Not flubbing chips fairly consistantly would be the icing on the cake!

I will be happy for the handicap to drop by a shot, season worthwhile though I will be honestly chuffed if I can get it below my lowest last year (6.3 or something)
My swing has come on with a few changes and when I try, I can go round sub par for 9 holes in a round so its getting rid of the silly mistakes that cost me 2 shots a hole that creep in every so often.
The overriding desire for this year though (probably the same for most members here) is that we can hit a more consistant ball.

Want to get to 2. My handicap has been up and down more than a whore's nickers over the past 10 years always hovering between 3 and 5, never managed 2 and that would be an amazing achievement for me. That said if I end on 3 I will still be delighted as it proves I'm getting more consistant.

Just need to get rid of the:-

PAR
PAR
PAR
PAR
TREBLE
PAR
PAR
BIRDIE

DOUBLE
BOGIE
PAR
PAR
PAR
PAR
DOUBLE
BIRDIE
BOGIE

scorecard. Going through a phase where a bad hole is a BAD hole and I cant seem to just "get away" with a bogie!

I’ve never had a handicap goal, I’ve never looked at buffer zones or anything like that, I just play each shot the best I can and if it all comes together for 18 holes then fine. In saying that, I got down to 6 from 8 last year with no goal…..just practiced more.

You’re out on the golf course for 3 or 4 hours. When was the last time, if ever, you practiced for that long.

Mine also as a new starter is to score around or below the 100 consistency so i can have a handicap. The par 3 i practise on each week is helping my chips and pitches as well as putting, the driving range is helping the drives and tee shots so once all together who knows.

My Goal is to actualy get a handicap. My mate thinks i should be off about 16 but i dont know about that. My short game is really good and my putting is getting more consistent so now i just gotta learn how to drive.
