I realise that the majority of the people on this forum are from the uk and it may be different for you as I am from Ireland but am curious as to how you go about getting your handicap cut playing in an open comp at a different course?
also can you get your handicap cut playing in a society comp?

thanks

Best way to go about it is by shooting less than the visitors CSS. That should do the trick :-)

haha yes that would be a start but whenever I have played in a comp outside of home my handicap has never been altered and was wondering if I have been doing something wrong?

that will depend on whether you have informed your handicap sec of your gross score (adjusted for any stableford adjustments) and the visitors CSS - or not.

if you shot better than that CSS you would also adjust your own handicap down in advance of the system cut.

the above assumes that the club you played at didn't request your CDH and process it all .... which clearly they didn't (assuming Ireland's on the CDH)

you should go back and report all Q scores that haven't been recorded.

as for Society, and NQ events, the answer is no.
