Because I do not belong to a club and therefore do not have a official handicap although I have of late gone round a par 72 course in 84 strokes, I do not know how to accurately calculate my unofficial handicap.

So to you good people of the forum , how do you calculate your handicap down to say 12.2 or whatever it happens to be?

I know you must take into account the stroke index of the hole over three cards but beyond that I have no idea how to do the calculation.

Played 3 rounds take best round adjust and triple bogeys and above down to double bogey.
Minus the SSS and the lowest number is your starting handicap.
Then forward any qualifying scores given you an adjustment or if you want unofficial evey time you play if you get 36 points assuming SSS equals par then no change likewise in buffer, depending on category of handicap is your range of buffer and also the decimal minus for every point over 36.
Simpler than sounds! Honest!
