Handicap allowance

A young junior at our club was abit down in the dumps, I asked her dad what was up, she had handed in 3 cards & got a club handicap of 48 from shooting 120 odd, the sec did 120 odd - 72 = 48, her dad said she did have 3 or 4 holes with 8/9 shots, but she has a friend who shot the same & she playing off a 36 handicap, was the high scoring holes the reason for the 48 as looking at her card she did'nt get an allowance, I could be wrong but I find the way handicaps are worked out interesting & bizarre, as I can't work it out, I did ask the sec just out of interest to learn more but he sort of said mind your business

Not sure how the ladies do their h/c but the men usually get to round down any big scores to a nett double bogey on the hole.

doesnt really matter, the more she plays the better she gets then handicap comes down. tell her not to worry.
