My open score means I'm up .1 to 5.5, can i now play off 6 or do i have to wait until my score gets updated at my home course which could be a week?

Don't think you can assume a 0.1 - could be reductions only.
You can cut yourself but I think you need to wait for the score to be processed before you can go up.

Imurg is correct. Though even if CSS is known, you still can't give yourself +0.1!

You can and must cut yourself (using SSS if CSS is not available), but only your club can adjust upwards - and then only when it is notified.

You can't self adjust upwards, only downwards. You will have to wait until your score is processed by your home club.
CONGU 8.5/1 last para.

Connections are a good thing, I'll have a word with match and handicap and hopefully they will update early next week.
They only have to link up with the CDH. The download of your score is then automatic.
If you sign up to England Golf Members Benefits you can check if/when it has been done.

Sounds like no ones at home to download and accept scores and then upload score to EG.
Im pushing for our club to go web version so I can access and do everything no matter where I am.

Yes also depends on the Open club putting the results through. I update pretty much delay and have seen Open results take over a week to come through

As mentioned above, I had to cut myself to 5 today as results not published from yesterday yet at time of playing handicap league match. Came through as were playing down to 5.2

No not really, i want my handicap to be correct for the tie.

That doesn't really make any sense. What you want is an advantage by getting another shot. You can obviously play to 5 otherwise you wouldn't have that handicap. Guess that is the main issue with handicaps though. People use it as an excuse as to why they lost rather than just playing to their best.

What's there to not understand? I'd like my handicap updated correctly in time rather than getting the week lag then updated.

Are you suggesting he is building a handicap?

If he is entitled to that shot due to his handicap going up, then it's actually a disadvantage if he doesn't get it!

I didn't get the shot in time and it would have made a difference. I shot 3 over 2 better than HC he shot 6 over 4 better than HC. Such is life with these matchplays..

Stroke play outcomes don't necessarily correlate with matchplay ones. You can win a match with a higher putative score than your opponent's.
