Not sure if it's a long standing injury, or something temporary, but I've been getting some pain in my hand during my swing.

Is this a common golf thing?

Have you changed your grip recently?

When I changed to an interlocking grip my little finger and then whole side of my hand hurt for about a month, purely down to the amount of balls I was hitting during the week whilst practicing.

Another possible option is gripping too hard? Or maybe an impact injury from a bad strike?

Well my grip has been hooded, but I'm looking at changing that to a more conventional grip. Going to try it on the range this week, may help me keep the damn thing straight.

In the meantime I'll keep using Arnica Gel. :)

Where is the pain in your hand?

I had an injury I ignored last year, and the start of this year. I did mine playing out of an un-rapaired divot. I just laughed it off as a knock, but turned out I had nerve, muscle and ligament damage where my hand meets my wrist ... (Under the little and wedding finger side) . I spent 8 weeks in a splint and out for just over 5 months.

My advice would be to get it checked by a doctor. I wish I did now in the first instance and got it rehabilitated sooner.

Wow. I'll remember that.

all ok now?

When changing grip styles it can be uncomfortable but shouldnt be painful. After spending a couple hours on the range yesterday i have a sore thumb today but thats cos i grip too tightly with my left thumb.

I played a punch shot out of the trees at the start of last season and hit a root.......roll on the following weeks and I was sure I had micro fractures across the top of my hand (area between nuckles and wrist) but played on pain killer end up as the worst pain was when I cocked my wrists at top of swing so I played on with 3/4 shots and played some of my best golf of the season. 4 months later the pain was still there on full swings so I went to see a sports injury specialist......after a bit of poking and prodding she hit the spot......smash in the middle of my forearm, turns out I had damaged extensor tendons
