Halogen ovens

Yes. My wife uses this exact model all the time. Had it for a couple of years. Brilliant for sausages, steaks and all sorts of joints. Also good for heating pies and pasties etc. The regular oven still gets used for larger items but this is so much more efficient.

I had one a few years back when I was up late/early watching a shopping channel and pulled the trigger.

Was ok for just over a year then the halogen light packed up and we couldn't get a spare in this country, so I binned it.

It was good at the time, I just saw one in Costco yesterday for under £50 but just about resisted.

Are you going to be replacing your oven? Or is it just as an alternative?

My sister and her partner have one instead of an oven altogether....but I think it's coz they're tight!

Just as an alternative and supposed to be healthier, quicker and easy to clean.

Halogen isn't overly cheap to run in comparison to other heat methods. If you're looking for something smaller to use other than your normal oven I would suggest a combi microwave. You don't have to use the microwave, just the fan oven side of it. They are quite a bit deeper than a normal microwave though.
