I am having big problems hitting a 50/60 yards shot ,they go all over left right 20 yards in front...nightmare losing more points and shots..any advice please?
I usually use a wedge ,I have a gap and sand wedge but not sure what to do and use...help please....

Don't know if this helps, but the more I take off of a pitch shot, the more weight I have on my left side in the setup and open my hips towards the target a bit (make sure your shoulders stay on target line, though). The idea behind this is that with a shorter swing, you won't have time to shift weight and rotate as much as you would on a full shot and then block yourself and either hit way to the right or overcompensate that by pulling the shots left with your arms. ... caveat ... this is what I found for my swing, I'm not a pro, your problem might be totally different, but maybe give it a try and see if it helps you.

Apart from that I agree with what GeeJay says: playing basically a long chip with a lower lofted club can be a good alternative if you don't have to carry the ball. At this time of the year I still find that a bit tricky though, because the grass is still a bit long (at least on our course) and it is difficult to judge the distance it will roll out.

I've just been up the range with my wedges to work on 4 shots! Full swing, 10-2, 9-3,8-4. So imagine there's a clock face around your body. use the arms to go to the numbers. Same swing on each - relaxed arms, relaxed grip. Rotate through the shot.
So my distances went as followed.
PW - FS 130yards, 10-2 115y, 9-3 100y, 8-4, 75y
52d - FS 100y, 10-2 85, 9-3 75y, 8-4 50y
58d - FS 80y, 10-2 70yard, 9-3 60y, 8-4 40y

So from 40 yards are upwards I've got basically every distance covered. it'll give you confidence to know that's your distance with this shot.
Rick shiels does a video blog on it.
