Not a traditionalist in any sense and certainly wouldn't celebrate the life of a sub-par poet but I do love haggis and tend to have it around once a month. Haggis supper is good as well!

Once you've developed a taste for Haggis I don't think there are many nicer things to eat.Appreciate it's not eveyones idea of haute cuisine, but hell I'll be indulging tonight.

There's an Indian restaurant in Gateshead serving curried haggis tonight. In honour of Ravi Burns, apparently.

In Perth Oz just now and Burns night is playing a slightly second fiddle to something called Australia Day tomorrow. Might be meat pies and snakes alive (Oz sweet) on the menu tomorrow...

Unlikely, local authorities would ban it for fear of upsetting minorities, who are highly unlikely to be offended and would probably want to join in. :angry:

Just watched a TV programme which showed Burns Suppers around the world, Singapore, Shir Lanka, Ghana etc. The locals seemed to be having a great time, some even sang Auld Lang Syne correctly.
Tinned haggis in Ghana though, poor show. The real thing is probably banned at customs entry.
