Had my first one on one lesson today - only 30 minutes but even after such a short time I feel it's already helped me!

The pro said there was a lot of good stuff with my swing, but he's got me keeping my left arm straighter in the takeaway and trying to get me to transfer my weight better, as I tend to stay quite "side on" instead of turning through at the finish. After just half an hour I'm already hitting straighter and more consistently.

Anyone on the fence about whether or not to get a lesson, JUST DO IT would be my advice! Just 30 mins into my lessons journey and already feeling the benefits!

:fore:

Good for you I have been hacking it around most of the year threatened to have a check up lesson in April never did and have been poor! Took the plunge 3 weeks ago and an amazing difference in just 2 lessons! Why oh why didn't I do
It in April.
Go away and work on that take away at the range as well as on the course and improvement will come. Good luck
And enjoy the trip!

Amazing isn't it how quickly they can help you identify what is causing you trouble.

Luckily for me I only began "teaching myself" about 6 weeks ago so I don't have years of bad habits ingrained in me...that'll come in time :D

i took 2 lessons and loved it made me love the game more, havent had the chance to get any more but can see me getting a block of 5 very soon

Big fan of lessons and it suddenly seems such an easy game. Work hard on the drills and make the changes permanent. Good advice though about the ball. Even f you don't feel you are hitting it well if the ball flight is good there may be more good stuff going on than you think. Check your divots too as they can give you some big clues

Thanks Homer! Your blog is a good read!

Lessons are strange things.

All I could do was hit hooks, the pro told me to start my pre shot routine with square feet rather than pointing closes. Result was beauty shots, I paid £30 for dancing lessons!
