Playing at Essendon Golf Club this morning, I managed to score a 10 on their Par-5 12th hole. Hadn't been in double figures for one hole for years! The disaster read: Drive under a bushy tree, hack out that only went 5 yards, 3 topped hybrids, attempted iron approach shot into a small wood, hack out to just off the edge of the green, and three putts from there! Argh, wake up screaming! Apart from that I played quite well, scoring 33 points and won a nearest the pin prize at the 18th. :)

If it's Stableford why didn't you pick up after you couldn't score ?

Hmm, you shouldn't have got your putter out, you had 7 out of the small wood?

#SlowPlay

Probably for the same reason most players don't - we are having a round of golf and we want to play it out in full

Doesn't help the pace of play though does it - when does someone stop ? Taken 9 already to get to the green ?

Surely that was one of the videos you took part in for the Slow play tutorials for GM ?

You can't know that he held the group up!

Slow play guidelines given out include if you can no longer score in Stableford you pick up.

It's not just about holding the group behind you up its keeping up with the group in front.

Was it not part of the GM slow play videos that you were involved in ?

Did you finish every hole at Woburn ?

If it was a qualifying comp then pick up but if it is a bounce game I would rarely expect someone to pick up unless there were people pushing.

It was a par 5, his fellow competitors could easily have played 8 shots if they had 2 shots on the hole, he topped 3 shots and possibly missed a short tap in - so he may well have played quicker than his playing partners

I was filming a slow play video as an acting role and that has precisely nothing to do with Delc's OP and my comment.

Jesus guys, how about getting the facts first before jumping on him!? There may have been no one in front or behind, they may have been waiting on the group in front, it could be one of many options. This jumping first attitude on here is getting a little tedious..

Did you play out every hole at Woburn even when you couldn't score ?

Or even if there was anyone behind to hold up!
It gets a bit like a school playground in here sometimes, lots of people all wanting to jump on someone for the slightest little thing...

For all you know from the OP he could have been the only person on the course....

Seems the dogs are hunting again. I know a lot of players that will continue playing even if they are out of the hole. If there's no-one being held up behind and not affecting the PP's then why not. Feel for Del. Not quite had double figures this season but had my four putt fun on Sunday. Give it time and I'll hit the double figures and no doubt four putt again
