Guy Martin - Wall of Death

All a bit of an anti climax for me, the cycle ride was over in a blink and the wall of death just didn't do it for me, all a bit overhyped IMO, I know records were broken but it didn't get my juices going 😞

Personally found Shanaze Reade managing to get a pushbike up the Wall of Death more surprising than Guy Martin breaking the record. As for not getting the juices going, 78.15 mph whilst pulling 6.69g impressed me no end & I found the training fascinating. Maybe being a biker makes a difference.

Caught this while channel surfing, and pulling nigh on 7g is some going, he did say at one point he greyed out and had to ease off to get his vision back. I think that record will stand for a good while.

Didn't see it and I don't know who Guy Martin is, but I know from my science background that 6.7g is very impressive and 78.15 even more so in that environment.

No he hasn't but he's made the podium 16 times and I believe he is one of 14 members of the 130 club. A little bit more to being a legend at the IoM TT than just a race win.

Fourth fastest ever lap and one of only 5 riders to have lapped in the 132 mph bracket.

Plenty of sports people are referred to (quite rightly in some cases) as being legends without ever having won the ultimate prize in their chosen event!
