GUTTED!!! But I LOVE this game!

Having come back to Golf after pretty much a 5 year lay off (3/4 rounds a year since 2008) I really felt it wouldnt take me long to get back into shape. I had been a 5/6/7 hcp since 1998 so had reasonable expectations. Well that was a mistake!! I have really struggled apart from a few flashes of form (48 points around Woking!). However after some hard work and several lessons I felt I had turned the corner. Went on a Golf weekend with other members to The Dorset and shot 40, 38,38 really easily. Then played in a Pro Am at Weybrook Park, shot 7 over and was 20 yds past our pro all day. Couldnt wait for the weekend and a chance to get the handicap down. It all started so well, I drove the first, 3 putted but hey ho, Hit it to around 100yds on second...........then the wheels fell off. Airmailed the green and took 6. Ended up with 28 points even tho I generally hit it great off the tee. Thought "cant play that bad twice" and went out again yesterday, another 28 points and have also developed the shanks with the short irons!!!!

I am gutted!!

However it still doesnt mean I had a bad time, my playing partners both days were brilliant and we had a great laugh in the clubhouse post round over a glass or 2!!


God I love GOLF!!!!!!
