GUR - how long?

How long can GUR be GUR..?
Does it have to be "under repair"?
We have a small copse between the 4th and 15th. It's where the greenkeepers were burning branches they'd lopped from trees last autumn. It was marked up then as they had tools and bits and pieces there.
It's now clear of all their stuff and is now fairly overgrown with bushes and weeds.
It's not the prettiest sight but it's in play if you hit a poor approach to 15.
It's still marked up as GUR although nothing seems to be being done to "repair" this piece of land...
How long can it stay GUR?

As long as the Committee deem it so. But it does suggest they are being rather dilatory in keeping on top of things

Tell me about it!

We have several areas of "GUR" which have been bad for years. They are white lined every so often but then the grass grows or there is heavy rain and the lines go. Nightmare.

the local course to me here in Inversneck is in the process of building a new course only two of the existing ate being used and one of the new greens is right in the middle of those two holes. That's been fenced off and marked as GUR, my understanding is until the new course is ready.... in 6 years time. so looks like it can be as long as the club deems it to be.
