Has anyone tinkered with Mid-Size grips...
As my recent i10 irons need grips im toying with replacing them with Mid-size Tour Velvet Golf Pride grips...
There selling them for 4 euro's and odd on the Golf store europe website.
I wear a large glove as the M-L tends to be too tight..
I have messed with those half shafts with the different size grips on them and to be fair even the Jumbo grips felt comfy...
Not sure if this has any bearing but im a panel beater by trade so most of the tools i use i.e Hammers screw drivers etc are fairly thick handled as most will know.

Is there any Advantages or Disadvantages to going up a grip size from standard...

I wear an XL glove and have fairly large hands, I tried a mid size grip on my driver but could not get on with it. It just did'nt feel comfortable, i think it has to be a feel thing.

I have small hands and wear a small glove but have always used standard grips and when I've tried undersized grips they just felt wrong. Interesting how standard grips can suit such a wide range of hand sizes.

I have small hands but use midsize grips..

Don't know the scientific reasons behind it just prefer the feel.. think it comes from playing cricket with a bigger handle but i need 2 grips on the anyway!

Maybe just try them on 1 or 2 clubs and see how you get on?

i recently changed to mid-size grips and i have a med-lrge size hand, it boils down to personal preference and what it does for you and your ball striking.
try before you buy, ask at your local pro or Ag store with a range and try , see what it does for, it fixed an issue for me.
good website for grips Gamola Golf.co.uk

I went the other way. I had jumbo grips which felt comfortable in my right hand but too big in my left hand. Drop down to midsize N-Durs which have been thickened in the right hand so have less of a taper. Much more comfy for me. I sure I read somewhere (possibly on here) that professionals have the thinnest grips they can get away with and a lot of them apply more tape to the right hand to reduce/eliminate the taper. I know Poulter does this.

Happy gripping!!

Anyone else noticed the size of the grips on Bubba Watson's clubs, it like bandages wrapped round and a grip forced over the top!!!!

I've got tiny hands yet like a fat(er) grip on my wedges, I guess its just down to preferrence.

I have midsize grips on my clubs.
My club pro did some measurements using the Ping grip system and my measurements showed me to be larger than standard (I think white is standard & I was within the Orange grips).
I think it is the Lambkin website and the Ping website where you can do basic grip fittings if you have a ruler to hand.
