Just a post to see what grips you guys are using at the moment, and have you ever changed the fundamentals of your grip.

Today at the range I changed from the 'interlocking' to the baseball grip and my swing seemed a lot more 'flowing' and I felt I hit the ball better.

I grew up using the interlocking grip then around 2001 I changed to overlapping. I then changed to baseball grip about a year ago as I find the club feels more secure in my hands without having to grip too hard.

Although I did think initially that my answer to this question was going to be Tour Velvet ribbed :D

I was shown the interlocking grip when I first picked up a club about 15 years ago at the age of 6, and its only today where I have actually changed my grip. I'm still following the same fundamentals of making sure the club runs through the fingers of the left hand etc. but it was interesting see how much more 'free' I felt and that the swing actually felt a little less heavy and effortless.

baseball. picked up a club as a kid and never felt like I was in control of the club with an overlap.

I have been looking into this grip; baseball/ten finger, and it seems the guys over in the States HATE the grip! They seem to be very anti-ten finger, and suggest that you can't get anywhere in golf playing this way....

Vardon for me.

Tried interlocking and nearly pulled my pinky out the socket. Yelped whilst mucking about on the range.

Baseball seems a bit "wrong" for me, then again any grip change takes ages to get used to.

The baseball grip has been used by many for a long time with success, it can lack the control of the Vardon etc though. We have a lad at our place who plays of 1.0 cack handed.

if you told a child to pick up and golf club and swing it, you can be dam sure he wont be interlocking his fingers!

baseball is natural ;)

use interlock on every club but my driver, which i've started to use the baseball grip for.
helps me close the clubface better through impact, otherwise i tend to slice the ball.

Interlocking for me as that's what I've been taught and it just seems natural. HimID was using interlocking but has swapped to overlapping.

Club Champion @ Largs is off +1 playing cack handed.

Moral is play what feels comfortable to you and not to suit the masses.

As 13 year old I leant with the usual strong right hand - got HC down to 12. No change at 14 I worked on grip to be more conventional, took about 4 months to be comfortable but by next season was off 7. Stopped using glove then too. Used interlocking grip, now have slightly splayed right hand small finger.
Fast forward to this year, in mid forties, back playing much more seriously, grip is my main area of work. 1. Switched back to a glove and 2. For last month been working on left hand grip. Focussing on distance/finger grip - had allowed shaft too high into palm - http://perfectgolfswingreview.net/grip.htm - already noticed difference with squarer contact, better left arm control combined with moving to overlapping vardon style, but I think my small hands might suit reverting to interlock.

Overlapping for me, how many pro's use the baseball grip?

John Gallagher won the scottish amateur playing cack handed, think he may be pro now, still cack handed,
