Hi All,

I've been reading the forum for a little while now and figured it'd be rude not to get involved myself!

I'm based in Cirencester, Gloucestershire and started playing golf a few years ago after being introduced to the game by a friend. Suffice to say, I quickly became obsessed and golf slowly took priority over playing football. Last year was my first 'proper' season on the course, playing in as many competitions as possible, and despite months of frustration and inability to play well when it mattered, I eventually managed to get my handicap down to 21 from 28. A case of forgetting the pressure and just enjoying being out there seemed to be the key for me!

Looking forward to another great year but things are on hold for now as I'm currently immobile after rupturing my achilles tendon. :(

Aiming to get back on the course in early April if all goes to plan and I cannot wait!

Anyway, enough waffling. I look forward to getting involved, making new friends and hopefully picking up plenty of tips!

Best regards,

Achilles

Hello mate, Welcome.

Where is your home course? I'm just down the road in Gloucester but play my home golf down in Thornbury, Near Bristol.

Let me know if you fancy a round any time.

Ruptured achilles, that has got to sting a little

Good to have more new members, have a look round and make yourself comfortable.

welcome to the forum

gl with the rehab, went through it in prev years with my knee, know how frustating it is, just dont trush back too soon (speaking from experience!)

Good move, leaving Royal Sth Cerney, only so many times you can play round a couple of farmer's fields!! :D

I'm a member @ Ciren, we have been told there might be quite a few coming across to join us. Hopefully meet you when you come over.

Hope the heel mends quickly, the 1st will be a nightmare if it's still giving you pain!! :D
