Decided to enter this for the first time this year and partnering my brother. I believe the format is both players tee off and the best drive is chosen then its alternate shots from that point. We have our first match coming up next week so just after some advice/tactics for this format?

For instance is it worth taking the not so good drive if it means the person hitting the second shot wont then be expected to get out of a bunker if it's a well guarded green? Especially if said person is poor in a bunker but the other player is pretty good?

We often play mixed greensomes.
As long as it is half decent, we will often take my shorter drive as Mr Mimms is much more likely to get second shot on green than me.
Aslo I am a good long putter and a rubbish short one,
You just have to play to your strengths.

My wife and I won a greensomes comp last Saturday. On a couple of occasions we took the shorter drive so my wife didn't have to hit mine from the rough.

Think about the next shot (or two)- assume you miss the green who has the better short game?
