In a Greensome ie. both players tee off and after selecting the "the best placed ball " alternate shots are played.
On our par 5 15th I played my partners drive and due to a nasty bounce the ball lodged halfway up a gorse bush resulting as unplayable.
Does my partner take the drop and I play the next shot, the drop counting as his shot or does he drop the ball and take the next shot. There is a £2 side bet riding on this.

AFAIK, the 'turn' applies to actually hitting the ball and penalties do not count as one player having had their turn.

Exception for provo or 3 off the tee - same player hits agin.

Your partner takes the drop and plays the shot and no one says "sorry" as this format at our club is known as the "sorry game" where it's best just to say one "sorry" on the first tee that will last to the end!

Thanks for the positive replies gents the £2 is rightfully ours as we said the same as you. With reference to the sorrys I had never partnered the guy before, and on our par four 7th he thinned my tee shot through the back but I was able to chip to a foot.My partner horseshoed the putt and spent the next three holes saying sorry. However as we all know the man who has not missed a one foot putt has never played the game.
