Greens' Maintenance

Good spot there. Interesting read.
Since been on the greens committee have learnt a lot, due to the climate we have to do our s twice a year, but the upside is with the growing conditions they soon recover

Really interesting to see how recovery happens and also a good read.

Looks like a lovely course, mate. Gagging to get a round on it with you soon.

They did them first week in Aug - they were awful on Sat 6 - so soft that you had to be really careful repairing pitch marks as they felt like crumbling in your hand. Last Sunday - nearly 2 weeks after they started (although they worke on them all week), they looked prety good - but long and slow - haven't played since but am hoping they should be decent this saturday - although we have had the mother of all rain storms today - just been out and several roads are close due to flooding! Quick greens soon - I doubt it!

I'm hoping all this rain will have washed all the sand/feed in and that when they come to cut them tomorrow or Saturday that the mower will help flatten them out. Its a monthly stableford on Saturday and to be honest the greens were a lottery midweek. I know its the same for everyone but when 3 foot putts are jumping offline and missing the hole it makes it a mockery

New bunker on the first looks good Paul. I assume it is over 200 yards off the tee, and out of my range. ;)

Good that a club keeps you informed on course improvements and maintenance.

I understand our second hole is due to be improved. It is the only non Colt designed hole. The tee has already been extended, but I imagine a new bunker on the left of the green will be going in.

It might even be in play a week on Sunday - ready for you! :)

If our greeny spent as much time on our greens as yours does on his website, they might not be in such bad condition. There's a man who takes pride in his work so hats off to him

Played the front nine tonight and the rain has done them a bit of a favour. They are still too bobbly to putt properly on and you can't be sure a three footer isn't going to veer left or right on you. Should be fun in the stableford tomorrow and there will be a lot of moaning going on
