It's the 2nd week of our winter league tomorrow, and we've introduced a few things to spice it up, as previously it was just 7 weeks, all the same format.

In a few weeks we will have a 4-club challenge, but tomorrow is "greenkeeper's revenge" and with the winds we're due, I think the CSS will be off the scale.

I think 31 points could win on the day tomorrow.

At the mo, I would take 5 over h/cap..........pray for me.

Not got any golf planned as HID's mother in law is quite poorly. Driving back from Harefield tonight along the motorway you can feel the car being buffeted and this is only the hors d'oeuvres before the big storm hits. Picked a good week to miss and I think you'll going to have a really interesting and challenging day. Mental attitude is going to be a big thing so stay patient. That will be worth a shot or two on those that let the conditions affect them

Great format! As long as they don't go too barmy! Experienced a few of those and it can reduce the 'too serious' guys to jibbering wrecks! Key, imo, is to come off the green at least smiling, if not actually laughing. In the forecast weather, getting into the 30's could be a phenomenal achievement!

Sounds a good laugh. Good luck with the wind predicted and the pins been lethal playing to 5 over handicap

Yep, your both right - attitude is king, I reckon.

The amount of times I've seen people moaning about the weather, who are already beat in the head. I think, prepare, and then get on with it.

To be honest, I'm playing with two mates - one who is off 15 and another who is off 25, but isn't the best of putters.

I'm looking forward to having a good laugh, but still be competitive.

How does it work. Is it just pins in the most difficult places on the green.
Yep basically.

I played Hunstanton in the summer and the pins we're "dirty", I asked in the car park afterwards and they said it was greenkeepers revenge today.

All pins were either 2 foot on from the side/front/back or on severe slopes. Thank god it's stableford.

That hole with the sloping green towards the end is it the 15th? Will be an absolute corker tomorrow by the sound of it.

Would love to have a camera filming that hole all day

Ah, should be interesting then! Not sure if they do it at ours. I know there's a 5 club comp.

Have fun:)

'Greenkeepers revenge', that's what we get most Saturdays, sometimes you wonder if it's a golf course or crazy golf.;)

Yep thats the one.

It's SI8 (so I dont get a shot), but I've recently found out that it is the hardest hole (scores most over par) on the course.

Greenkeeper's Renege wasn't uncommon at 1 old place at Weekends. Pins not changed either day and Greens often not cut! Seven (or is that 2) day members didn't get a great service!

My old grenkeepers did one for a 9 hole charity event.
They went to town, and introduced new elements such as, must use driver to tee off on the par 3's and a wedge to tee off on the par 5's.

I had a wander up in the afternoon. played 14 holes and didn't think the pins were much harder than regular comp pins.

the greenkeepers are too nice! windy out there but playable. I was an up and down machine today.

cracked the face on my 4 wood. not a happy bunny!

Every competition this year I would say, but having said that you can predict what they will be. There are two spots on the greens he uses. Which if your positive, you would say your shot selection is simple, you just practice what is required for each position and hopefully in the medal you carry out the shot. God help us if he puts them in the middle of the green... I'll never get close!

Take it to the shop you bought it from or a pro who is an outlet for that brand, you'll be surprised what they will do to have a happy customer.

the pro at Formby is a registered nike dealer! I may have a word with him next sunday when we are due to play there.

Your right mate, the odd awkward one, but they could have been a lot worst.

The wind wasn't as bad either, I reckon 15 mph tops. Bit of a damp squib, really.

We had 31 (me), 30 and 33 in our group. Lost the money in our group to a 25 h/capper who canned a birdie for 4 points on the last. No it wasn't scouser!
