Anyone been out today?

I've had a week off work and quite frankly the weather has been a washout. I've played once, early Friday evening. Other than that I've been doing stuff round the house (many brownie points earned!) :D

Footy took most of yesterday up (dry weather) So I planned on going for a knock after the seniors comp today. Oooohhhh naaaaa! It's tipping it down.
I felt for the hardy souls who went out this morning and afternoon at my club, my God, there'll be some hypothermia/flu/colds in abundance now!

8 of us played Gourock this morning m8, rain on from start to finish and mist coming and going also.

Was a gr8 day though and some gr8 golf shots given the conditions.

Good stuff Andy, glad you had a good time. ;)

If I'd had a game planned the obviously I'd have been out in it myself. (Don't like crying off!) However, if it's just a solo knock....... well, come on, it's nice and warm inside!!! :D

Yup, went out this morning. There were about 10 fourballs due out after us and we were on the 3rd tee by the time the next group headed out.

I have never seen the car park so deserted on a Sunday morning when we finished.

Bunch of big girl's blouses, if you ask me.

I went out today... Here in Hampshire it has been dry all day but we have had a gusty wind but it was generally warm.

My wife is away all next week so I hope to get down the course every evening after work for a few holes and some much needed practice! I also have a round pencilled in for Friday morning so lets hope the weather is good then!

Well after the biblical rain over here yesterday, ventured out today not expecting anything to special. Turned out to be a smashing day for golf and I finished with 39 points and hopefully cut again to 12!

I was out this morning Basher.....
1st comp off my new handicap....Weather was terrible..That sh1tty persistent heavy drizzle... Still i cant complain with 31 points and some very soft fairways......3 scratches by my own stupidity but a nice day..

played both yesterday and today, decent weather both days although it did try today to get me wet.

couldn't hit the ball to save my life yesterday yet today finished with 36points to win the captains 'fiddle'

Played yesterday and today. No rain at all but a bit 'blustery'.

Beat 7&6 yesterday and 34pts today in 4BBB, but it's better than not playing golf :D

Sounds like most of you have been having decent weather.

I know I live in Gods own County, I wasn't aware we had our own microclimate as well!!! The rain is still flying horizontally past my window!

Eee, it's grim up North!!!

I know all about that! I grew up in Grimsby; the home of "It's grim up North"

I have only been on the south coast three years and I swear I never knew this country could get so much sun!

Bucketing down here too both me and my partner knocked it on the head before I even left the house.

Rain was torrential last night :(

All that passed my way this morning lads in from the west and across the country Eastwards.......Im pretty sure shat i was playing in this morning is bucketing down past yer windows as ye speak :(

Who says it always rains in Scotland?
Lansdowne Tee time booked for 11.12 this morning in a slight drizzle that cleared by the third hole. After that lovely calm benign conditions, ideal for golf. :D

Played at Kingsbarns today with my father in law. Full waterproofs first 2 holes then rain went off and was lovely the rest of the round. No wind and perfect golfing conditions.

Was lucky enough to be paired up with a Czech Pro and his wife, He has played European Tour in late 1990's and the Challenge Tour recently as well as owning his own golf course just outside Prague.

Was brilliant to see Pro at close range tackle the course from the back tees and despite him outdriving me by 50 - 80 yards consistently. I played a lot better than I have been off late and we had a fantastic time.

Stevek1969,

For your information having played all the top courses in the Uk he rated Scotscraig as in his top 5 and also Machrie was right up there as well.

Golfing trip to Prague in the offing !
