Great value open

I played in a team open at Crompton and Royton today, the cost £10 a player, C&R is a lovely course, it was a shotgun start and when we finished we got tea, sandwiches and home made cakes.

Most people I meet around here at other courses who have played C&R always mention the quality of the course. The greens especially seem to get high praise, I must get round to playing it.

By the way Louise, have you played Brookdale? I seem to remember you saying you have. Any good?

The greens were the worse part today, they are still quite bumpy, but there are really nice holes there and I cant really pick a weak one.


I played at Brookdale in an open last year, its a bit of a curates egg in my opinion, there are some really nice holes, but some of the others are a little dull. I would say that the best holes are on the back nine. I have only played it once though so my opinion may change if I play it again. .

Hmm cheers, I'm currently torn between Brookdale / Blackley / North Manchester as they are all a similar price and distance. Although C&R is only 5 miles away....I may have to give it a go.
