Following my recent post about my membership application to Gog Magog GC, I had a call last night from the membership secretary, requesting a copy of my handicap certificate and a letter of introduction from my current club in order to further progress my application.

the closing comment was along the lines of 'it would be in your interests to provide the documentation as soon as possible'

so a quick call this morning to the secretary at my current club, an email sent to Gog Magog this afternoon, and i get a call this evening congratulating me on my successful application and welcoming me to commence my membership from February 1st, or as soon as my joining fee and annual subs are paid.

Well chuffed, can't wait to get started. :D:D

Congrats mate - joined a wonderful club

Forum meet "cough cough" :D

I'll see what I can do when I've got my feet under the table............

I have the pro am over there this year - you are going to smile every day you play there mate. Only John O Gaunt rivals it in that area

I looked at JOG as well, but it's a good 45 minutes drive from home, whereas Gog Magog is 15 mins away. Handy for evening rounds and practice in the summer, and it means I'm not gone all day at the weekend, so the boss is happy (er)

Yeah that certainly seems the sensible one

I would be hard to choose if you were stuck in the middle of the two though :D

this imo :)

Congrats and glad for you that you havent got to wait the summer

Me too, although I'm a bit gutted that I signed up to a 12 month direct debit at my old course in December, having been told that my membership at Gogs would not be effective until Oct 2014......:(

Absolutely, bit steep in year 1 with joining fee and monthly fees at old course, but quite reasonable from next year onwards.

the boss saw the letter that came through today from Gog Magog with the invoice in it.........think I'll be buying a jumbo bottle of Radox and some candles tomorrow.........
