I'll post this now as I have managed to book mine today.

As members of the S.G.U. you can play here in March for £100 a fourball or £200 in April.

Available 7 days a week (I am going on a Saturday) subject to availability.

Only downside of going in March is it is mats from fairways but other than that it is full course and at that price you can't really grumble. :)

Fill ya boots fellow Scot's. ;)

GCD, says he wouldn't even take his worst enemy onto that course!

Funnily enough he asked me if I would like to play it!

Nobody I know who has played it, and there are a few, rate it. They all critisise the greens and reckon it is the worst of all the St Andrews Links courses.

sorry forumers ,i don`t usually put st.a`s down - but i don`t rate the castle course , the layout of the course is ok , but the greens are horrendous. ifu can imagine the `himalayas` putting green -well there twice as difficult as them ,not heard one local say anything good about it -it`s very poor by st`andrews standards - if ur a gluton for punishment =sure come and try it but don`t say u weren`t warned :(

I really enjoyed it when I played it, had been open just about a month.

Stunning views, and some cracking holes, i would love to play it again, but too far for me......

But surely it's got to be worth £25 a head? Even if it isn't the best of the St A courses?

I reckon you guys are getting picky in your old age... :D

totally disagree with most of comments here, the castle course in my opinion is absolutely fantastic, sure the greens are tough (although some have been levelled slightly) but there are so many wonderful holes and the views are something else.
been to st andrews last 2 years, played it for supplement of £40 on top of the 3 day ticket. perhaps we got lucky to play in relatively calmish conditions but our group of 12 love the place

We are 'homeless' for the day as Goswick is shut so we will be going and making our own mind up regardless.

If it is sh1t it's only £25 and it's a day oot with the lads....it's either that or shell oot a fiver less for a goat track around here that we have already sampled.
