Great day off the tee......... horror show around the greens

In today's qualifier I had one of my best rounds for ages from the tee, finding 11 out of 14 fairways with good distance, but around the greens I was pants.

chipping was dire and I took 38 putts with six three putts inlcuding four on the roll.
As we all know it's putting that counts so no surprise I got 0.1 back from a net 82.

Back to up 12 now, just looked at my Excel record sheet and it's almost a year since my last cut, golf sucks.

I practice my chipping fairly regularly, did half an hour's puting yesterday. I play one proper round a week and try and get 18 holes practice during the summer evenings.

I'm hoping it was just one of those days, if not I'll be in touch!

that's the case for a lot of people easy to neglect the short game as its not as flashy as the big drives down the range. I'm currently working on my short game and its a grind you never look more stupid than topping the ball across the green.

I am now hitting about 100 chips a day and put for half an hour about 3 times a week I can really see the difference dropping shots left right and centre "Drive for show putt for doh" (or something like that)

Must be something in the air at ours was catching as I was the same! We must have caught it on Wednesday as I was the same! Tee to green the best I've ever played yet couldn't chip or putt for toffee! Strange for me as its normally the other way round!
