Belton Woods, last match of the season for the B team.

What a fantastic match we had, never more than 1 up or down. to and fro for all 18 holes of great golf, but I managed to sink the winning putt (in our match)on the 18th in front of a large crowd (the hotel was busy today)after thinking I had spun back on the slope into the pond, only to find it had stopped about 2' from water....phew! Good chip with a mud covered ball and a 9 footer clinched it.

Great course and is very much improved since I last went anywhere near it, greens were great, very fast, lots of borrows on many, but readable.

The best feeling was how I hit the ball today, not so much with driver as that was a tad off, but everything else was very good.

Very good course, has some long holes off medal tees(they have two 18 and one 9 hole) I think we did the Lakes one.
Will certainly be visiting there again soon.

Alas Homer we got pipped in the overall match, but it was all very close, most had a great day, and evening.They had a carvery! woo hoo, it was gorgeous.

There are so many clubs round this area, I can't understand why more clubs cant trump up teams to make it a real sizeable competition in the league.

Played for Tydd St Giles in the 2nd div, but moved out of the area last month. Loved playing at your place last season, some excellent holes since the works were carried out.

I Know where you mean, its not that far from us really, and yes, the improvements are great and still ongoing. When some of those trees start to get a bit of size going it will become a more difficult course, in the last couple of yrs they planted about 1000 or more, most still staked thankfully.lol
