Someone was selling brand new waterproof jackets on ebay for a tenner each so I bought 3 of them intending to sell two.

I was impressed with them so I kept all 3 - excellent value and the twice I've got caught in the rain it's done the job well.

And as anyone knows after the GBOI saga, when an online company starts offering gear at stupidly low prices, what can possibly go wrong. But I will be fine as I've mailed cash

I thought merino wool absorbed the water without getting wet to the touch,something like 2 times as much capacity for absorption than normal wool. Didn't think it was repellent as such.

I've got a Possum /Merino jumper from NZ and fairly showerproof and lovely to wear.

Excellent jumper, bought one and today in a really heavy shower on the 18th didn't bother putting waterproofs on . The rain seemed to bead up on it whilst my trousers got wet and wetter.
Brushed the water off jumper and dry to the touch whilst 30 mins later trousers still wet !!
