So my daughter goes off to the parents evening while I babysit.

She returns teary eyed. Apparently all the kids books are spread out to view and she finds a page written by my 6 year old grandson.

Their task was to write a sentence on inspiration. She photograph the page. He'd written "I think my granddad is inspirational because he inspires me as he fixes things. I want to be like him"

I'll treasure his words. Certainly puts all the other every crap going on around us in perspective.

What simple bits from your grandchildren make you puff your chest?

Young Bradley Tash is four fingers old tomorrow. Grandad Tash has spoiled him rotten, he has enough Star Wars gear coming tomorrow to fight the dark side for a millennium. We are taking them both to Northumberland on Sunday for six days. Two hours ago we were looking at all the castles on the tinternet that we are going to, where all the nasty dragons and monsters fought against the goodies. At Bamburgh, Alnwick and Holy island we won. But at Dunstaburgh unfortunately we lost. His one liners just kill me.
Layla Tash is one finger old, she grunts at everything, she would be crap on countdown coz everything is constanants and no vowels. She wants to crawl everywhere. She wants to be spoon fed everything. Sometimes I think she is a natural at the mannequin challenge, she's a layzeecsod, until she finds her vocal chords. She will sing before she talks, and swim before she walks. She has the ugliest smile you have ever seen, it could melt concrete.
me an Missis T are gonna have a ball next week.

Tashy - you are the only person whose blog I'd read...your posts always make me smile and you paint a brilliant picture :-)

Cheers me ducks, am ok til the red wine turns up then the Rammel just flows. I said when I finished work I would write a book. I have an idea but Mr Motivator just won't turn up. Asked young Bradley Tash if he would like me to buy something to eat whilst up north. "Cake" he says, so am on a mission for a box of Twinkie's. Apparantly the " dark force" has been defeated in Edwinstowe today, loves his hot wheels Star Wars toys.

You taking your clubs Tash 😉

That is a very sore subject Beezerk. There's room in the car for pram, toys, suitcases, food, pig full of pennies for arcade, more toys, cake, two kids, even more flippin toys, Missis T but not me bats.

Priorities dear boy.
Alnwick castle is good, is the young un a Potter fan? There's another up that way called Chillingham castle, supposed to be the most haunted place in britain according to crazy people.
