The PGA in the US have decided to end The Grand Slam Of Golf after 37 years, ok not the best golf event in the world but it was always nice to see the four major winners tee it up at the end of the year

It doesn't help when every year it wasn't always the grand slam winners that played.
Also didn't help that it wasn't at the end of the season for them now

It was a wheelbarrow event, a filler, nothing more than an irrelevance.
Often it was only 2 or 3 of the Major winners who played, once it may only have been 1..!!
And you almost always knew who was going to win it after 2 rounds....

A funny old event and while I like the idea behind it, without getting all the winners to participate every year it becomes a non-event really and just a cash cow for those playing and even then, they hardly seem to be busting a gut
There was definatly more interest in this event years ago where all the major winners would attend and even when a player won two or more majors in a year the next best average player(s) for all four majors got a slot and would show up.I think the event held little interest for players nowdays.
