I've decided my theory of closing my eyes and pointing at the paper to pick a winner is slightly flawed. So are there any horsey types out there with a hot tip to improve my chances of winning some money:)

Mrs Hobbit always goes for the jockey with the most purple in his silks. She generally does quite well when we go to the races...

Not looked at the National yet.

I picked the winner 2 out of the last 3 years

Comply or Die when he won and last years winner at 40/1 I think it was, I'm about £130 up.

As a regular punter who loves horse racing, the Grand National isn't a race I eagerly look forward to a la Cheltenham.

It's a great tradition and I do enjoy the drama.

This year I've backed On His Own @ 40/1 and 10/1 antepost. The other favourite Prince De Beauchane got pulled last week making On His Own favourite now.

I will probably back Treacle,Cappa Bleu,Seabass all ew and maybe a small reverse tricast.

Happy Punting.
