Gran canaria golf - courses and green fees

Lopesan Meloneras - I really enjoyed this course and it was surprisingly quiet. Great practise facilities too. We stayed in the Lopesan hotel and they were always doing deals.....Maybe pop in the hotel and have a chat ?

I'm looking at gran canaria for a trip as well, saw on one of the websites that they do a golf pass for 4 or 5 rounds. I was planning on staying in playa de ingles and playing both salobre course, anti Tauro and one other. It was €470 for the 5 day golf pass from October to May.

Anfi Tauro is a pretty good course. Played it in 2013. Like nothing I've played before. Everything was pristine, tee boxes, walk ways, greens, fairways.... perfect! Can't remember how much the green fee was, but it wasn't cheap.

I only played there the once, on my own, the Mrs isn't a golf fan. I promised her time in the Spa at our hotel which was a two minute drive away, Sunprime Riviera Hotel and Spa. Lovely hotel, adults only, and a fit as receptionist.... She got my heart beat going, if you know what I mean? ;)

Salobre Golf is good, with 2 courses. Typical rugged and rocky terrain wrapped around with lush green fairways!

But the best course on the Island, for me, is Anfi-Tauro near Puerto-Rico. The place is full of drama and spectacular scenery. Lots of elevated tees set amongst the rocks and ravines. One of the par 3's is carved out of a mountainside - literally!

Oh, and take plenty of balls - unless you're deadly accurate!

Enjoy.

Real Club de Golf de Las Palmas is the oldest club on the island and is a Ross Mckenzie designed course, it's magnificent.

They used to do free transfers from your hotel if you booked a tee time direct with the club, may still do and if so it's a great deal. Well worth it because the course is off the beaten track. If you play it and you'll thank me if you do, take your camera!
