GPS for I Pod Touch

Steve, IPhone gps is good I tried Freecaddie once or twice and it was only 2-3 yards out from my mates SC2.5 but battery life is poor with gps on.I prefer to judge it from 150 markers seems I'm almost as good as the mates SC for judging distances.

I believe you can get an adaptor for the IPhone to extend battery life so would look for that if you plan to use one.

I've used teetogreen on my Iphone for months and love it.

you can also record your stats on in as well as keep track of your group's scores, stroke and stableford.

You add the courses yourself and use google maps to add the markers on the course such as centre of green, hazards and Ideal layup shots. Once your course is in you can either just view the yardages or have an overview from google maps (best to view these on your wifi connect first to cache them into the phones memory). Under the map image you can move a cross hair to a point where you want to play a shot to get your yardage.

I've raved about this app so much to my mates, I should be on commission, albeit a percentage of £8.99 would not be much.

Steve i have sureshot on the iphone and although slightly more expensive all distances are already input into your course which for me seem to be very accurate. If your course is not on it it usually takes 2-3 days for them to add it after your request.

As mentioned i have a protective case which also acts as an extra battery which is worthwhile getting as there is only just enough battery power to get you round. All in all very worthwhile at the fraction of the price of a golf gps.
