For as long as I can remember I have fancied a pair of loakes Brouges. chester 2 to be specific. Anyway Mr and Missis tash went into Chesterfield today with young Bradley tash (grandson) and we passed a shoe shop/cobblers which sells them. It also said the magic word. "Sale" anyway 20 mins later Tashyboy is walking out having paid for a pair of Chester Brouges and a pair of Loakes Dovedale boots and they were massively reduced. They fit like a glove, and look gorgeous.

out in um tonight and sat here with a stupid grin wearing um, helping to bed um in 😜.

happy days.
 
There is something great about a great pair of boots. I have a couple of pairs of Grenson ones that are my favourites. Though my very first pair - many many years ago - were even better, being finer leather uppers.

Only problem is that leather soles are not great on cold/wet pavements! Rubber has a distinct advantage in these conditions!

Well am back after a night on the tiles in mansfield, it's amazing what two pints of birra morretti, a peroni and carling Flat. Old does for you. Anyway tash has had a glorious Tappas with Missis tash and looked stunning in his new shoes.

1, Loakes are are a PITA with leather soles. Tashyboy has dropped on because I had had have had a rubber skin over the leather sole. Free of charge. Woohoo. Strange thing is the salesman. Observed asked me re this and I had no clue what he was on about so I said I would go with his advise.

2, I have this male chauvanistic theory that a nice pair of shoes and watch maketh the man. I am half way there

3, If Carlsberg made golf shoes those Lyle and scott ones are the baby's. I feel like a moth drawn to the light.

4,pinseeker is the leading contender of this years bad man award for suggesting they would look good with shell suits.

5, Missis tash is a leading contender for this years bad girl award for moaning at me sat here in my Jim jams and loakes, sipping hot chocolate. Sort yerself out lass.

I agree about a good pair of shoes and watch, however, I have lots of dreams, none involve shoes:rolleyes:

what price were the Chester brogues reduced to (needing new brogues myself)

I worked out a while ago that it usually help to speak what Tashy writes rather than just read it.

the chesters were not reduced, it was the dovedales which had been reduced. it made the overall price for me excellent with the rubber skin put on the chesters free of charge and a bit of Polish chucked in.
re dreams and shoes I have one which involves women and high heels, however Missis tash does not appreciate nor dream of me wearing loakes in bed. It kicked off a bit last night when I climbed in bed with them on.

i believe it was, Peters the shop is called. It's only a small place but it was rammed with people calling in for repairs and selling at the same time. First time I have used them probably not the last. Although I will have to save up for the next pair.
saw some gorgeous Barkers in there which were a good bit more and another shoe which I forget the name but would need a mortgage to buy.

Strange thing is that I ummed and armed re buying the shoes which will last years and years, but never blinked when buying a SLDR driver which was a lot more and I will probably swop in 3 or 4 years.
